Youth Business University is elated that we have established a collaborative affliation with Founder Dr. Nazeera Dawood and Health Promotion Action Coalition (HPAC). 

As a result of our alliance, Youth Business University and HPAC will share resources as related to educational progams, strategic and succession planning, research and development, operations and management, system knowlege bases, marketing, and capital funding campaigns.

This business relationship between Youth Business University and HPAC will also allow both organizations to expand their capacity to serve more youth and adults in the area of health resource services.

HPAC was established in December 2011 as a collective group of diverse coalitions that are dedicated to improving community health outcomes through policyj, systems, and environmental (PSE) changes.  Ulitimately, HPAC will seek to flush out the root cause of health disparities and acheive health equity for residents living in Fulton County.

Under the umbrella of HPAC, seven coalitions were formed and more than 400 community stakeholders and agencies from various sectors have participated in the initiatives.

The mission of HPAC is to protect and improve the health and quality-of-life of individuals and families who work and/or reside in Fulton County.

Listed below you will find a summary of each of the seven sub-coalitions of HPAC:

SAFE KIDS FULTON COUNTY COALITION

"To reduce the number of unintentional inquries and deaths to children, ages 14 and under, through community partnerships, advocacy, public awareness, distribution of safety equipment and education."

DIABETES COMMUNITY ACTION COALITION OF FULTON COUNTY

"To mobilize individuals and community groups to reduce the health and financial burden of diabetes through education and community support; the promotion of regular medical check-ups and healthy lifestyles; and policy, system and environment (PSE) changes to increase access to: 1) health care and 2) healthy lifestyle choices."

SMOKE FREE COALTION OF FULTON COUNTY

"Reduce the health and economic burden of tobacco use and increase awareness of tobacco control issues among community members and policy makers in Fulton County".

HEALTHY HEART COALITION

"To create awareness for the risk factors that contribute to heart disease, to impact the health and economic burdent of heart disease, to prevent needless deaths related to heart health and to empower the community to self-advocacy that benefits all Fulton County residents."

FULTON COUNTY INTERFAITH COALTION

"Members will share common policy examples, be a resourse to one another, sustain collaborations, and translate health knowledge in their congregations, bridging the gap between health and faith."

FULTON COUNTY ASTHMA IMPROVEMENT AND REDUCTION COALITION

"To reduce asthna morbidity and mortality in Fulton County through education on reducing indoor air pollutants (irritants) and increasing access to asthma medical treatment."

FULTON COUNTY WOMEN'S HEALTH COALITION

"Increase awareness of women's health through educationm and promote preventive services, healthy lifestyles, and environmental changes."
